A Two-Day Retreat, Start to Finish
What could a two-day retreat actually look like? Day one can start with the work. The group settles into a meeting space for a morning planning session, with room to focus, work through presentations, and have the conversations that are always a little easier when everyone's in the same room. Once the meetings wrap up, the pace changes. That evening, everyone sits down for a plated dinner prepared by Chef Ian and his team, with a menu designed specifically for the group, followed by a relaxing campfire under the stars. Day two starts with breakfast before the group heads out onto the Fraser River for a sturgeon fishing trip. No previous fishing experience is needed. You get on the boat, take in the river, and see what the day brings. There's something about fishing that brings people together without ever feeling like a forced team-building exercise. People talk, joke around, compare catches, and inevitably swap stories about the one that got away. By the time the group heads home, they've had time to get real work done, enjoy a great meal, spend time outside, and, most importantly, spend time together away from the office and the everyday grind.
Planning Your Retreat
When we sit down to put together a corporate retreat, we start with the basics: how many people are coming, how long you're staying, what you want to accomplish, and what your team would genuinely enjoy. From there, we build out an itinerary and make recommendations based on your group. We've had groups come primarily for meetings, groups come specifically for the fishing, and groups that wanted a little bit of everything. That's what makes corporate retreats so fun to plan. There's no set formula. If you're looking at planning a corporate retreat in BC and aren't sure where to start, send us an email. Tell us a little about your group and what you're thinking, and we'll take it from there!
