What's Included When You Book a Wedding Here

October 19, 2026

A plain-language guide for couples comparing venues, covering what comes with a Fraser River Lodge wedding and what you will still need to budget for.

When you’re comparing wedding venues, the hardest part is rarely the view. It’s working out what each quote covers, because one venue's price includes the chairs and the coordinator while another's gets you four walls and a key.

This guide walks through what’s included in a Fraser River Lodge wedding, what isn’t, and a few dates and details worth knowing before you book. Our packages differ slightly from one to the next, so the brochures are the best place for the finer details, but here’s a general look at what you can expect when you celebrate with us.

‍

The whole property is yours

We host one wedding at a time. When you book a full wedding with us, you have exclusive use of our 18-acre waterfront property for nearly 24 hours. You can get into the hall at 10:00 AM on your wedding day, and your things need to be out by 9:30 the next morning.

That changes how the day feels. There’s no other event happening down the hall, and everyone out on the lawn or walking on the deck at sunset is one of your people. Mount Cheam rises behind the property while the Fraser River runs right alongside it, and our bison have a habit of turning up in more wedding photos than anyone plans for.

Your ceremony and reception spaces

Every wedding here includes your ceremony and reception spaces, and you have a few ceremony locations to choose from:

  • The Field. Our most open setting, with the mountains, the river, the bison and a wildflower meadow behind you.
  • The Lodge Deck. A smaller, closer space where every guest feels like they are in the front row, looking out at Mount Cheam and the Fraser River.
  • The Wedding Hall. An indoor option available year-round, with the same river and mountain views through the windows.

Rain is the worry that comes up most for couples planning a ceremony on The Field, and it’s one you can set aside. Our Marquee Tent is the backup plan, a 2,400 square foot white tent that holds up to 200 guests. If the weather turns, your ceremony simply moves under cover and you still keep the views.  You can see each space on our venue spaces page.

Tables, chairs, linens and setup

You do not need to rent the basics. We provide round and rectangular tables, our white bistro chairs, napkins, plates, cutlery and glassware at no additional cost, and our team sets all of it up for you. At the end of the night we gather your decor into one place so that packing up the next morning is quick.

Your own decor is yours to bring and set up, and it helps to know the rules early. Candles need to sit inside glass cylinders, and we do not allow open flames, confetti, glitter, cold sparks, vinyl floor wraps or fireworks. If you would like string lights, we offer them as an upgrade in two designs.

Catering, bar and service staff

All the food is prepared in our own kitchen, with each menu thoughtfully crafted. Allergies and special diets are covered at your details meeting, where we work through the menu with our chef. You can browse the current wedding menus to get a feel for it.

Serving staff are part of your package, and so are two fully stocked bars with bartenders, one set up for your cocktail hour and the other for your reception. The drinks themselves are billed separately. Our liquor licence means all alcohol has to be served by the lodge, with one exception: you can bring commercially purchased wine, and a corkage fee applies only to the bottles that get opened.

A coordinator on the day

This is the part couples tend to underestimate until the day arrives. Your day-of venue coordinator is with you for most of your wedding day and acts as the point of contact between you, your vendors, your family and our staff. They greet guests, manage the setup, cue the wedding party, help your MC and your photographer keep to the timeline, and deal with any tech problems before you hear about them.

They also attend your rehearsal on site. About three months before your wedding, we’ll sit down together for a details meeting. That’s where we settle your timeline, menu, layout, bar setup and vendor list, so by the time the morning arrives there’s nothing left to figure out.

Somewhere to get ready, and somewhere to stay

Every package comes with a private wedding suite and a games room lounge, which gives both sides of the wedding party a place to get ready without leaving the property.

When the music stops, nobody has to drive. We can sleep up to 47 guests on site:

  • Eight lodge rooms, one of which is your honeymoon suite
  • The Outpost, which sleeps nine
  • The Homestead and the Hillside, which sleep five each
  • Four Bison Suites, which sleep two each

Rooms are priced separately from your package, and you do not have to play banker. They can be charged to your account or billed to each guest directly. You can see the rooms on our accommodations page.

What is not included

We would rather you hear this from us now than find it on an invoice later. Package prices do not include taxes, the 18% service charge, alcohol or lodging, besides the honeymoon suite which is included. A 30% deposit secures your date.

Your own vendors, such as your photographer and florist, are booked separately, and we are happy to recommend people we have worked with. For getting guests home, we suggest Driverseat Chilliwack for shuttles.

A few optional costs are worth knowing about too. If the night before your wedding is free and you would like us to set up tables early, there is a $950 setup fee. Moving your wedding date costs $500, subject to availability. Your guest count can change up until three weeks before the wedding, though it cannot drop by more than 15%.

Four ways to book

What is included varies a little from one package to the next, so it is worth reading the brochure for the one you are considering.

  • Full Size Weddings are for up to 200 guests, with the property to yourselves for nearly 24 hours.
  • Micro Weddings bring the same setting and service to a smaller guest list.
  • Refined Celebrations are for up to 20 guests and are built around the meal, either plated courses or a long table dinner served family style.
  • À La Carte Weddings run year-round from Sunday through Thursday. You start with the essentials and add what matters to you.

All four are on our wedding packages page.

Come and see it for yourself

A list like this only goes so far. The best way to know whether this is your place is to stand on the deck, look at the mountain and picture your people here.

You can book a tour, check our availability calendar, or send us a wedding inquiry. If you would rather talk it through, call us at (604) 796-1210.
