High Caliber Customs was onsite offering exciting jet boat rides on the Fraser River. These rides gave guests a chance to see the area from a unique perspective and feel the thrill of being out on the water with mountain views all around. Great River Fishing Adventures joined us as well, bringing two fishing boats and spending time talking with guests about what it is like to fish for giant sturgeon on the Fraser River. It was a great way for people to get a feel for the kind of experiences we offer at the lodge, and the team from Great River was more than happy to share stories and answer questions.
Families were especially happy with all the kid-friendly fun. There was a bouncy castle for little ones to jump around in, and a face painting station that stayed busy all afternoon. One of the highlights of the day was the food. Cheam First Nation generously prepared fresh salmon and bannock for everyone to enjoy. This meal was not only delicious but also a meaningful part of the cultural experience, and we are incredibly grateful for their presence and contribution.
Throughout the day, our team was available to chat with guests about everything Fraser River Lodge offers. From luxury overnight stays and chef-prepared dining to unforgettable weddings and corporate retreats, it was a great chance to share our story and meet new faces.
Hosting this open house with Cheam First Nation felt like a perfect reflection of what we value here at the lodge. We are proud to be located in the Fraser Valley and deeply respectful of the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories we are fortunate to work and live on. Welcoming our community to this space and sharing it for the afternoon was an experience we will not forget.
To everyone who stopped by, thank you for joining us. Whether you came for the food, the activities, or just a quiet afternoon walk through the grounds, we are so glad you were part of it.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to those who helped make the day possible - Great River Fishing, High Caliber, our amazing staff and of course, Cheam First Nations. We are especially grateful for sharing their time, food, and teachings with us. Their presence added depth and meaning to the day, and we deeply appreciate the opportunity to learn from their knowledge and traditions. It was an honour to host this event together.
We hope to host more events like this in the future and continue building strong connections with the community. If you missed it, we hope to see you at the lodge another time soon!
