Indigenous Community
We operate with respect for this land that we are on, and for the people who have and do reside here.
Our Indigenous Community
We strive to deepen our understanding of the local Indigenous communities and acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the traditional and unceded territory of the S’ólh Téméxw (Stó:lō).
This section of the Fraser River is known by local indigenous peoples as "Sto:lo" in the Halq'emeylem language of the area, and this term has been adopted to refer to all of the indigenous peoples of the Fraser Lowland, other than the Squamish and Musqueam. The Indigenous peoples of the area have long made use of the river valley for agricultural and commercial exploits and continue to do so today.
Indigenous Experience
Join us on a journey through the lands and across the rivers that have influenced our ancestors, cultures, and traditions. We work with local Indigenous Guides to offer unique insights based on a deep connection to the land and lessons passed down through generations. Examples of experiences we offer are learning the healing power of plants on a medicine walk, hearing legends of eagles on a tour, event blessings and more. We want to continue to build relationships with Indigenous partners, connect to the land, and let Indigenous peoples in BC bring you or your team closer to cultural sensitivity in diversity and inclusion.
