June 2013 Fishing Report

June 26 and we still catch huge sturgeon on a daily basis. This is getting slowly but surely scary. Here are our guests from Alberta with their trophy sturgeon of the day on the first day of their fishing holiday. Well done boys!

Our guide was fantastic, all the staff there is great. In the few years we have been fishing at resorts, we both have never been treated better than we were there!

You have a 5* lodge, 5*service 5*dining 5*staff. We could not have asked for better.

We will highly refer you to others, and we hope to see you again in the future".

Thanks very much.

June 25. We have landed a total of 19 sturgeon amongst our guides today at difficult high water conditions. Here is the smile of the day with greetings to Australia and London, England.

We are writing June 22 of the year 2013 in our log book. Today was another historical sturgeon fishing day. We have landed 2 monster sturgeon in a row for Ryan Morris and his friends from Alberta. This 9 footer had a girth of 59 inches - that is nearly 5 feet around or 147.5 cm around. Estimated weight is 500 lbs.

As I type this, we are drifting down with a huge sturgeon, much bigger than the one we have landed earlier in the pic below. We are now at drift for more than 2 miles without having seen the fish. In the meantime, here is our biggest so far for today... 8 foot 8 inches long or 264 cm.

"Go big or go home ...".

NEW - we now offer hunting packages. Please have a look at our bear, sheep and deer hunts.

Fishing continues to be excellent during this month with daily success for sturgeon as well as 100% success on our wilderness trips. We have a few openings left for this years wilderness season. Please inquire...

What are friends for? - go fishing into the wilderness...

Paul and his crew started their fishing holiday today, on June 11, with a nice "starter fish" - not bad for high water conditions. Let`s see what tomorrow brings...

"What a start to begin with into their fishing holiday".

The river came up as of today - June 10 - due to melting snow in the North. Fishing became more difficult, however, we still managed to produce results. This one was landed after a 45 minute battle.

"Our guests from Germany with their first sturgeon ever - and what a whopper it was".

Our friends from Up North spent 3 days at the lodge with the mission that everyone in the group catches a sturgeon or more - and they did. A monster was lost on day 1 and after a few days of hard fishing, the group ended up with many sturgeon. Here is the last one caught - of course by the lady.

"Tyler, Christina, Marcel and Paul with the last sturgeon landed on the last day of their fishing holiday."

The fishing continued to be excellent with the "men" of the wedding party from the weekend adding some sturgeon fishing. it took all 3 of them - Sean Winzar as well as Rick and John Holder to land this beauty after a long battle and drift downstream. The fish gods were with us on this sunny day.

"Rick, John and Sean with the beauty of the day."

The month of June started in style with Al and Ann Maki landing another beautiful sturgeon before heading back to Wyoming with memories of hard fighting sturgeon and landing several of them during their holiday.

"The last day of a fantastic fishing holiday for Al and Ann Maki with guide and lodge owner Frank Staiger (left).

What a day with sun and great friends to celebrate the memory of a loved one on our wilderness river.
