Fraser River Fishing Report for May 2008
On Saturday May 10th we held our 4th Annual Sturgeon Tournament. The turn out this year was amazing in support of the Agassiz Fire Department. 17 boats took off from Island 22 in pursuit of “the big one” and for a chance to win some great prizes back at the lodge. There were several large fish caught out of the 70 fish caught in total, with the first place fish coming in at 88inches. Congratulations Elmer for winning the grand prize of an all inclusive fishing trip for 4 people at the Fraser River Lodge. There were many other great prizes awarded for the other large fish caught including a Helicopter tour from Valley helicopter, River rafting with Hyak Wilderness, Makita tools, golf passes and many more. Overall we were able to raise $2,800 for the Agassiz Fire Department. Thank you for everyone who helped make this event a great success! As the fresh net begins we are starting to see the rivers rise. During this time we will continue to have great days for Sturgeon and will pursue multiple species of trout on our wilderness rivers & heli fishing lakes.
