Fraser River Fishing Report for January 2009
Steelhead fishing starts to turn on with some nice steelies taken on the Vedder as well as Chehalis river system. We fish for steelhead via spinning method as well as with single and double handed fly rods. We expect a good steelhead season from now until April. As of May steelhead fishing is fly only in the Vedder River.Trout fishing is good in the backwaters of the Fraser River. Best chance are spawning areas where the chum salmon were spawning. Egg patterns work well.
Sturgeon fishing is slow and we do not offer any sturgeon trips during this time of the year. We care about sturgeon and feel it is not appropriate drag hibernating fish through the water. We start sturgeon fishing in March when they get alive and water temperatures are rising.
